overdue, sorry

It's raining again. I'm writing again. 2000 words left to go, 3 Lord Mayor's Shows left to talk about and then I'll be done the first draft of my thesis. This is going to happen by tomorrow at 7PM, when they kick me outta the Bodleian Library's Upper Reading Room (pronounced "urrrr"). So I've been boring lately, at the library all the time, escaping for brief bouts of Frisbee with Jamie and Ed, frozen pizzas at Ben's, drinks at Sahara with Rosanna. Have been listening to Royal Wood a lot lately. Been doing the radio. Got yelled at by belligerent pedestrians, angry because they didn't get outta my way when I was biking and invincible.

Events I should have blogged about include:

MY PARENTS WERE HERE AND WE WENT PUNTING!

WE STAYED UP ALL NIGHT AT HERTFORD FOR MAY DAY!

This is an annual tradition. On April 30th, "all" of Oxford stays up "all" night, then reports to Magdalen Bridget at 6AM to hear a choir at the top of Magdalen Tower welcome the dawn/May/Spring/Summer? It felt kinda like a rite of passage. It felt kinda like a waste of time. But it's always fun to watch a tower sing to you at dawn, isn't it?

I ORGANIZED A "CONFERENCE" FOR MY COURSE!

Because none of us wanted to ever return to the turdlike structure of the English Faculty, I organized the "conference" that we were "invited" to give, planning the day at Hertford's Octagon. It went... fine, fine. I got sandwiches from Olives, organized coffee and tea and cakes with Hertford, wore a pretty dress from Camden. My classmates (well, Bianca) bought me a big bouquet of purple tulips--this made everything worthwhile.

I ATTENDED A BLACK-TIE DINNER FOR THE English Graduates at Oxford!

I borrowed Pia's ankle-length strapless black dress with crinolin and faux-bustle. I drank too, too much wine. I had a lovely time but needed to go to sleep immediately. The walk from St-Hugh's to St-Aldate's was very long and I have vague memories of chatting to a Big Issue dude about my dress.

That's pretty much it. Those are pretty much the highlights. More soon. Really.
