LUMINOX!

The Bodleian closes at 7 PM these weekdays. Which is good. Because if closed at 10, I woulda stayed until 10 and I woulda missed Luminox, this... um, fire festival? Apparently it's in celebration of 1000 years of Oxfordshire.

It was awesome.

Broad Street was basically set on fire by a skilled team of... Frenchmen. Beginning at Catte Street (near Hertford--everything happens near Hertford) and running down to Cornmarket, they'd installed big bins full of flames, flowerpots set alight, firey chandeliers. Amazing. Crazy.

They set Cranmer and Laud and others on fire on Broad Street. I'm not sure that Luminox involves any irony.
